Across the harbour from Valletta, the older Three Cities hold the knights’ story without the crowds: Vittoriosa’s waterfront, the Cottonera lines, a traditional dgħajsa across the creek. These tours are set apart by how much of the trio each covers, and whether you arrive the proper way, by boat.

“Our tour guide was Daiva, she was very knowledgeable, so warm, welcoming, and polite. We enjoyed our time with her, and we learned new things. One thing that can be changed about the tour is to make it in smaller groups, the group was 50 people and it felt like we were rushing because the large number was holding us up.”

“Zero communication after several attempts. No info on jump on jump off places. No one at the meeting spot had any idea what we’re talking about. We did not get a tour at all”

“A great insightful tour of the three cities in Malta, would definitely recommend. Karl was engaging and was conscious of keeping us all in the shade. There was 7 of us on the tour at 2pm, the maximum they do is 50 people.”

“Enjoyed the self drive trip but a co pilot is preferred in my opinion as negotiating traffic and keeping track of GPS in an unfamiliar vehicle may be challenging if alone When we went off piste the owner contacted us to get back on track as he can see where you are at all times The second time we went off piste he came and physically directed us good natured around the last part of the adventure that was above and beyond So an excellent and responsible attitude towards his clients What was good you could stop when and where you wished to enjoy the area and take photos which…”

Birgu walking tour in Malta’s Three Cities with Inquisitor’s Palace entry, WWII stories, and harbour views.
“Our female guide (didn't catch her name) from Colour My Travel was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and so very well-spoken despite the blazing heat. She kept us moving while seeking shade. Especially enjoyed the tour of the Inquisitor's Palace as our guide's explanations really enhanced that overall experience. Just loved how she peppered the entire tour with anecdotes about her Maltese grandmother which made the experience very personal and fun. The only blip was our panic over trying to decide where which Birgu gate was considered the "Main Gate" at which we were to meet. We had to call Colour My Travel and they told us to find the guide neat the…”

“Amazing to see Malta in the evening!!! James our driver was fantastic and shared so much of his wealth of knowledge with us. He told us about the history of the places we visited as well as the overall culture, food, current events of Malta. We asked to change one of our stops as we had already been there earlier in the day and he was happy to accommodate our request. We had a great few hours and learnt so much.”
Restored vintage bus tour of Malta’s Three Cities in 90 minutes with forts, harbors, Senglea views, and English guidance from Sliema.
“We chose this trip because we hadn't spent much time in the Three Cities on prior trips to Malta, and the vintage bus was a fun twist. It was nice, and we heard some interesting facts about the history of this area. Things to be aware of: The driver is a man of few words. He might come off as gruff to some, doesn't give a ton of information, just highlights, and can't answer questions while driving. The 90-minute tour includes a 20-minute stop in Birgu, where a bathroom stop is offered, provided you go to a café and purchase something. For the price, though, for us it was okay,…”
